We propose the students to draw the river the feel attached to, their experiences and memories in those rivers in order to promote attachement to the place and value the importance of the river in our lifes. In some of the workshops we also ask the students to draw the river as a living organism evolving along time.

Field Trips 2017

Another day, we also visited the eco-art project in Pacific Avenue by our colleague Elizabeth Conner to filter the run-off water before it goes to the sea.
After that, we headed towards the bridge in 11th Street. That place was where the sea and the land met years ago. Now the industrial area has taken a big area from the sea. This bridge is on the Thea Foss Waterway. This waterway was an important industrial center. EPA listed this place as a Superfund site so it was cleaned.
Finally we visited the sustainable building Center for Urban Waters where different partners like City of Tacoma, University of Washington and Puget Sound Partnership research issues related to water in this región.
